Hello Kamryn Janeen Lowe!!!

Welcome to the world Kamryn!!! Our bundle of joy was born Thursday, Dec. 2nd at 5:19am. I was in the hospital for an hour when she was born. We are so happy to have her in our family. She is a beautiful and sweet baby. Her siblings love her very much. They are constantly asking to hold her and kiss her. Sometimes I have to protect her from all of the affection. Of course, Whitney and I aren't any better. We love to sit and hold her and just watch her as she watches us. She eats well and sleeps well, for the most part. I feel so blessed to have 4 beautiful children and a wonderful husband, and not to be pregnant anymore. We love you, Kamryn!

Almost there!

Well, my parents are coming on Saturday. I am very excited to see them. Hopefully it won't be much longer that Kamryn will make her appearance. I am so ready to hold my baby. She is the most active one I have had. I'm hoping that means she'll be calm and peaceful once she's here. Well, I can dream can't I? What would I do with a calm, mellow child?
I am enjoying my calling, but somedays it gets rather stressful. We had our primary program yesterday and I am so glad that's over! But we're having a little upheaval in the presidency right now and I can't help but think it's lousy timing. Oh well, I know that everything will work out. I just have to stop myself from stressing about it. Whitney asked me the other day if I'm going to stress this baby to coming out. I told him probably. As hard as I try I not to stress, it's difficult. I'm a natural worrier. I have to work at not stressing about stuff. I guess I am a work in progress, on many levels.
I know this is just rambling but what the heck, it's my blog! I just needed to get out what is on my mind today. Everybody have a happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy November!!

Ok, five months is really, really bad. Wow. Anyway, here are some pics of the last five months.
We went with some friends to Six Flags. It's nice to have friends who have season passes and can get you in for FREE!!

Sarah wanted a ladybug cake for her birthday. I have to say I am very happy with the way it came out.
We had a small party for her and it was very non stressful.
Moving on to Jared's birthday. We did it at the park. He wanted a blue cake, with blue frosting and blue candles. We actually used Toy Story candles, but he was still happy. I made the frosting and it was super yummy. We also had plenty of cake left over.
Jacob played T-Ball this summer with two of his friends. He had a lot of fun! He finally got one slide in; the last game of the season. It was pretty comical.
Batter Up!
We spent a week with my family in Pismo Beach. There is a petting zoo down there that we went to. The kids really liked it. Have you ever heard of a Turken? It's a hybrid of a turkey and a chicken. It's quite ugly.
Here is the Carter Family grandchildren, plus a couple of additions.
Can you see my belly? I am actually five months pregnant in this picture. Before we left for Pismo, we found out we were having a girl!
The week after we came back we moved into our new house. We are home owners!!! I love my new house. I didn't have a good picture of it or I would have posted it, but I will post one.
This is Jacob's first day of school. We live right around from the elementary school so most days we walk to and from. My baby's in Kindergarten!
Jared's first day of preschool. He's going to Jacob's preschool from last year, which means it's across the park from the elementary school. It makes it really convenient to pick up and drop off the boys. It's also nice to have time with just Sarah. Though I have to confess, we mostly just get errands done. We have gone to Story Time at the Library a few times.
Skip ahead to Halloween. I didn't get a pic with the camera of the kids in their costumes. I have to get it from Whit's phone. Anyway, this is Halloween night. We had Jed and Shannon over and the kids bobbed for apples. They had a lot of fun!!
Jared bit it by the stem. It was pretty cute!
Sarah just looked at it, then just picked it up. She just wanted to eat the apple.
Ok, wrap up. Our baby is Thanksgiving. Her name will be Kamryn Janeen Lowe. We are very excited to be having another girl. Whitney still loves his job. He spent two weeks last month at school learning about drugs and how to make them. Just the type of skill every wife wishes her husband has. He really enjoyed it. We love our house and we are looking forward to having my parents and younger brother out here for Thanksgiving. Once we have the baby, I will make sure Whitney posts a couple of pics.

update......FINALLY!

Wow, this is rather embarrassing!! How can I go 3 months without posting ANYTHING!! I mean I know I don't blog about every little thing, but still! We've had 2 birthdays, and a holiday. I don't have my pics yet for Sarah's birthday, but we'll get ya caught up on the rest.

First, I just have to say I love this picture. I don't see my boys like this very often so I had to capture the moment. I'm sure I can find a use for it later when they are grown up. 2/2010

Sarah is practicing her big sister skills on her big brother. 2/2010

Jared is quite the little bug when he wants to be. 2/2010

We decided to get a T-ball set and took it to the park. This is how Jared observed the proceedings. 3/2010

Happy Birthday Jacob!!! He had a lot of fun at his birthday party. We made goody bags and the kids had a treasure hunt. Jacob is always entertaining when he opens presents.

He is really into Spiderman so I decided to do Spiderman cake. I must say I was happy with the way they turned out. We also had the biggest turnout of any birthday party we've ever had. It was pretty cool.

We got together with some friends and had an Easter Egg hunt with the kids. They really enjoyed it. Because my computer is slow at uploading pictures, I didn't put as many as I otherwise would have. But we also decorated easter eggs which the kids thought was pretty fun.

We bought season passes for the San Francisco Zoo this year and I took the kids the day before Easter. They had a puppet show, the Easter bunny, and some live bunnies. Sarah liked petting the bunnies.

Here is Jacob with his decorated easter eggs!

Here are the kids, and Whitney, waiting to find their easter baskets. After they found theirs, I found mine. Whitney put it on top of the ceiling fan.

Now we skip to the end of May and Jacob's Preschool Graduation! Very prestigious. Don't you love the glasses? He really enjoyed preschool and is all ready for kindergarten. Jared will go to the same preschool in the fall. It will be nice to just have Sarah for a couple days a week, at least until December.

I love the "nightengown", as Jacob called his cap and gown.

My baby, in his first graduation. It's a beautiful thing.
So in a nut shell that sums up the last three months. We are still waiting for the house. We will definate news by this next week. Let's hope we'll be moving into the house we own by the time school starts!! We're optimisitic.
Also, we are expecting another baby. Today I am 15 weeks along and I am hoping to take pictures each week to show my growth. This might be our last baby and I would like to be better at enjoying it. Not that I haven't in the past, but I think you pay more attention to the little things when you know you might not experience it again. We will find out in about a month if it's a boy or girl. Baby #4 here we come!

Book Recommendation

Here are a few books I have read recently that I really liked. Airborn, by Kenneth Oppel. There are three books in the series and I really liked them. I also like Graceling, by Kristin Cashore. there is a companion to that one called Fire. Very good books. This month in our book club we are reading Peter and the Shadow Thieves by Dave Barry. It's the second in a 3 book series. Very good.

Movie Review

We watched "Forever Strong". If you haven't seen it, watch it. It was a really great movie. I am a sucker for the sport, underdog movies. I really enjoyed this one.

New calling

I have received a new calling. I am now the 2nd counselor in the Primary presidency. I am excited about this calling and look forward to the work I can do there. I know it will be a bit of a personal challenge but I know I can push through and become a better person because of this calling.
We are doing good. We have a game night with a couple of friends and it is so fun to get together and play and visit and, of course, eat. We also put an offer on a house and are just waiting to hear from the bank if the offer has been approved. We are very excited to be getting more space. It's a four bedroom, two bathroom. I am really, really, really excited!! Can you tell? As soon as we know we have the house I will post pics.

Snow day!

Last week we met some friends in Reno for a couple of days. We played in the snow with the kids. It was a lot of fun!! Well, for Whitney and I anyway. After about 30 minutes Jared and Sarah were ready to be done.
Whitney taking Sarah down. She couldn't decide if she liked it or not.
Lisa taking Jared down. He liked it until he got to the bottom, then he remembered he didn't like it anymore.

We buried Whitney in the snow. It was great. Good thing he had a full snow suit on!!

We went to Circus Circus and played the games. We won quite a few stuffed animals. It would definately be something fun to do again.

The is a plethora of buffets in Reno. Both nights we chose pretty good ones.

Eric and Lisa Sampson. Thanks for the invite, guys!

These are bows I made for Sarah for Valentine's Day. She looked so cute with these in her hair and her little red dress. I love that I can put her hair in pigtails now. I have been making a lot of hair clips for her. They are really easy and really fun to make.

Christmas vacation

Well, I am finally getting around to posting some pics. One of these days I am going to be more consistent with this. But some is better than nothing right?
Here is our beautiful Christmas tree. We went a little crazy this year on the kids. But it was a lot of fun!

Santa brought Jared a new bike!!

Jacob got one too. Sarah really wanted one. Maybe next Christmas.

Sarah got a new kitchen, though! What a smart Santa. All three kids love playing with it.

After our Christmas morning with Whitney, the kids went to Arizona for two weeks. It was nice to have that time with my family. JD and Willow and I took the kids to the Science Museum. It was really fun. I'll have to get the other pics from that leg of the journey from Willow.

Then we stopped in Las Vegas for a couple of days on our way home. We went to the Town Square with all the kids. The kids had a great time!

Can you believe how big she is?

We watched the fountains at the Bellagio. That was pretty cool. Next time we go to Vegas, I want to see the fountains at night with all the lights.

Whit, this one is for you. I love you.

Here we are in the MGM after we watched the lion feeding. That's always fun to see.

The Cassies and their kids. An impressive sight, if I do say so myself.

And here are the Cassies. I am so glad that we were able to spend a couple of days there. I always enjoy visiting with Cassie. Even though we live far apart I consider her a great friend. I love ya, Cass.
